Rectangular poised heron

Rectangular plate featuring a grey heron poised waiting for unsuspecting fish. Inspired by the herons I see on the river. I am always impressed by their quiet nonchalance, their utter stillness as they patiently fish and their almost lazy take off. They look too big and cumbersome to fly with grace and yet they do, as quiet and graceful airborne as they are on the ground. Part of the river bird collection. 

Made from red earthenware clay and decorated with coloured slips and a glossy glaze.

Perfect for wall decoration and could be used as a serving plate. Washing by hand advisable.
