Kelp and grey, green clouds. Kelp forests are luxuriant coastal ecosystems that are home to a wide variety of marine bio diversity. The steady increase in ocean temperatures have wilted and weakened these thick, rich canopies. The warmer water encourages voracious sea urchins to move in and decimate much of the remaining vegetation over vast areas, forming bleak marine environments, largely devoid of life.
As part of my sea species range I will be donating £24 of the sale of this piece to Greenpeace for the extraordinary work they do on behalf of us all.
